The metal bone pin is a passive implantable medical device, made of stainless steel that complies with the GB4234.1 standard. It has excellent biocompatibility and corrosion resistance. It is mainly used in orthopedic surgery to support and restore the function of the skeletal structure by penetrating and fixing bones.

1. Before using this product, the user must carefully read the product instructions and related information and become proficient in the operation process of this product. Otherwise, surgery should not be performed;

2. The specifications of the metal bone pin should be selected based on the location of use, type of the metal bone pin, or the type of external fixation frame;

3. For bone fixation, the metal bone pin is generally positioned approximately 2 cm from the fracture end. The length of the screw thread should penetrate the opposite cortex by 2 mm, with 5 mm retained on the proximal side;

4. Make a skin incision of about 1.5 cm, and perform blunt dissection of the fascia and subcutaneous tissue to reach the bone surface to minimize tension around the metal bone pin;

5. Select a drill bit with a diameter slightly smaller than the root diameter of the metal bone pin thread. The drill bit should penetrate through the opposite cortex. When the drill bit reaches the opposite cortex, a depth limiter must be used;

6. Once the metal bone pin is inserted, it is strictly prohibited to retract it to avoid loosening of the pin;

7. When the metal bone pin is used for external fixation, the external fixation frame should be positioned approximately 1–2 cm from the skin. The screws on the frame should be tightened onto the metal bone pin. Compression and traction of the fracture end can be applied as needed.
